WELCOME TO THE ADELAIDE HUB.
Gulf St Vincent
Why Adelaide?
Traditional place name: Tarndanya
South Australia is home to some of Australia’s most unique underwater environments, from giant cuttlefish aggregations and leafy sea dragons to spectacular seagrass meadows and temperate reefs. But the 2025–26 harmful algal bloom crisis has brought the vulnerability of these ecosystems and the communities that depend on them into sharp focus, disrupting marine life, diving experiences and coastal livelihoods. Through our algal bloom response, Divers for Climate is bringing divers, scientists, businesses and communities together to share what’s happening underwater, support affected communities and build stronger systems to prepare for and respond to future marine disasters.
