I’M A DIVER FOR CLIMATE.
The statement
We are divers for climate action.
We are a community that is deeply connected to the underwater world.
We are SCUBA divers, freedivers, commercial divers and snorkellers. We are sea rangers, underwater photographers, tourism operators, conservationists, scientists and guides. Together, we’ve experienced a world beyond imagination.
We see magic. But we also see change.
From rising temperatures and seas to extreme weather patterns — for those of us who live and work by the sea, the impacts of climate change hit close to home. Many of us are already taking action to protect our dive sites. But we cannot do it alone.
We call on decision makers, politicians, businesses and individuals to stand with us to ensure a future where we can enjoy our dive sites for generations to come. Together ,we encourage and support public commitments that aim to drive ambitious climate policy, decarbonise the marine tourism industry, empower climate leadership and support community resilience.
